I have a lot of lag/stuttering when playing with mods with a lot of enemies, like maps of chaos or Scythe 2, combined with mods like Johnny Doom, DRLA, or Brutal Doom. Every half a second or so with FPSMonitor active. On the contrary, if you did update your drivers recently and are suddenly lagging in Zandronum, you can try downgrading your drivers to an older version and see if there's any difference in performance. The game was apparently going back and forth between Directx and OpenGL. It also shows what renderer the game currently uses. I made an overlay that I can toggle that shows information like CPU usage and so forth. 6fps to 13fps ingame and even in the menu it's horrible. The problem is that FPS ingame is really low. Display options > Texture options > Texture filter mode: None (linear mipmap) By default, GZDoom uses linear upscaling on all sprites and textures, turning them into a blurry mess. It runs on Windows, Linux, and OS X, and adds new features not found in the games as originally published by id Software. Absolute necessities I do not understand how anyone could argue with these. I tried various things to fix the issue, but what's finally worked is something I found suggested on a forum: make a new account on your computer, set GZDoom up anew, and presto The game now runs flawlessly. Your computer's memory is being eaten at nearly 90. GZDoom acts REALLY weird with FPSMonitor.
